Fluffy Little Chick
We took another trip to the Arboretum with G's best bud, Andrew and his fabulous mommy. The boys are getting harder to pose, since they would rather be on the move, but it was still fun to stroll with them and enjoy the stunning landscapes and gorgeous flowers. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.
Sittin Pretty
On the Move
Face Plant
I love how they already play with such a boyish nature! Just for fun comparison here are the little guys in October.
Gosh, they have changed! I thought that would be fun, but I am in a little bit of shock right now. It all changes so quickly!
Seeing their interaction with each other change as time passes is so fun. They always grin big grins when they first see each other. I can't wait to see the relationship that forms between them, being that they are each others first friends.
Happy Spring!

The Little G that Could
G is so close to crawling! Everyday he moves those hips a little more and trys to push those arms forward. As you have seen here and here, he usually ends up going backwards, but those days are quickly becoming part of the past. Here are his latest moves as of yesterday.
I think I can... I think I can...

8 Months and then some...
When you are counting in months time really seems to fly by. So here I am a little over a week late for oh so many reasons. Reason #1 was that our 8 month photos turned out like this...
But I guess that is what you get with an 8 month old. He wouldn't lay still for a moment and just wanted to play with the blocks, so here he is doing just that.
8 months is...
New snacks
Trying to crawl but usually ending up stuck
Wrestling with Dad
Loving on Mom
Reading a good book
Playing with friends
and family
discovering new places
and enjoying it ALL!

Few and Far Between
Road Trip! G is a traveling man and can now add road trip to his list. In typical G fashion, he made the trip to Grandma and Grandpa's much longer than it has ever taken before. To his defense, it was only because he needed to eat and I felt like he needed to stretch his legs or he might be permanently formed to the car seat.
It was short trip filled with nothing but relaxing with family and lots of great food! Seeing G with my dad is very emotional for me. After looking at these pictures over and over I am starting to understand why. I think I have taken for granted all of the time I have with the majority of our family that lives in town. They have seen him gradually grow from a tiny little 6 pounder to the plump 8 month old he is today. They have hardly missed a beat. With this part of my family it is different. Physical distance seperates us. They can see pictures and watch videos, but don't get to touch, to interact, to snuggle, to connect. They don't get to make a funny noise and see his reaction. It is all secondhand. Watching Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Eric engage with him is precious. These moments are few and far between. These pictures probably seem exceptionally ordinary, but I could look at them over and over again. Just a reminder to myself to slow down, soak it in and not to take it for granted.

Childless Engineers
Here is a random thought... Now that I am a parent, I often think "The engineer behind (insert gadget here) must not have children.".
Example: The universal remote, or any remote for that matter
It has lots of bright attractive buttons, yet no lock feature. Yes, G almost ordered us up some new channels the other day. That one would have been fun to explain when the bill came. Seems all to close to the dog ate my homework excuse.
Maybe the remote engineer is in cahoots with the cable company. In that case, they probably do have children and it is a brilliant scheme!

A Little Help, Please!
As Matt once brilliantly put it, "G is such a great help. He makes everything take at least twice as long!". Well, that is a thing of the past. We had a conversation and he really wanted to take an active part in chores, so here is what we came up with...
Our new dry mop! He lays down on the dry mop pad, scoots around, and the floors are clean! Genius!
**Update** This is technique is probably best suited for a baby that doesn't drool.
